Re: COVID 19 Statement

As per the Prime Minister’s Statement, 24 March 2020, the National Cabinet confirmed and clarified the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) advice regarding the requirements of previously announced measures, in particular those related to non-essential gatherings and outdoor gatherings. Specifically, additional prohibited activities and venues are to apply from 11.59pm (local time) 25 March 2020, which now includes social sporting-based activities. It is generally accepted that the government prohibition notice covers all WARA members’ gatherings whether they be a shooting event or any other form of gathering of members, and as such all WARA member activities are to be cancelled until further notice.

Physical access to the WARA Shop and Office will be restricted and will effectively be closed to all members and other persons from close of business 21 March 2020, unless by prior arranged appointment.

Provision of shooting supplies will be maintained via mail orders to the country members and a collection service and/or mail order for metro members. Please phone 0427 265 865 or email eo@wara.asn.au to place and pay for any orders.

WARA has not made these decisions lightly but due to the Government laws we are required to adhere to these at all times.
