Dear Members,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Barry Hughes, a Life Member of the Albany Rifle Club and a proud former National and State Team representative. Barry passed away on the 2nd of July 2025 and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held in Barry’s honour on Friday, 18th July at 1:00pm at Amity Rose Funerals, 9 Cockburn Road, Albany. This will be followed by a Last Shot ceremony and a wake at the Albany Rifle Club, located at 432 Frenchman Bay Road.

Fellow National and State team members are warmly invited to form a Guard of Honour at the funeral home, dressed in team uniform. Please arrive no later than 12:40pm if you wish to take part in the Guard of Honour.

To further honour Barry’s memory, Albany Rifle Club will host a memorial shoot on Saturday, 19th July, commencing at 10:00am. The program will include two ranges (500m & 600m), with 2 x 10 shot matches at each distance. Camping is available on-site for those who wish to stay overnight at the range.
